When do I need to bring my book(s) back--which day do I go to the library?

Find the schedule of library times here

How many books can I check out?

The number of books is up to teacher discretion, but the general policy is:

Students in Pre-K generally check out one book for their teacher's classroom library. Students in Kindergarten and 1st grade generally check out one book--some teachers have students keep books in the classroom, and some teachers have students take books home and back. Students in 2nd-5th grade generally check out 2-4 books to take home and bring back. Students may bring their books back every week to check out new books, or bring books into the library and renew them for up to four weeks total.

There are no fines for overdue books, but your total number of books checked out is always limited to the number above. IE: If a 3rd grader has three books checked out, only brings one book back--they can only check out ONE new book and have a total of three books checked out.

How long can I keep a book?

Generally, you should bring books back to the library every week. You can renew books for up to four weeks--but you must bring the book into the library to properly renew it.

What if I find a torn page in my book?

Please bring it directly to the librarian who has special "book tape" to fix torn pages. Do not attempt to tape/repair books at home. Thank you.

What if my book is overdue?

There are no fines for overdue books, but if you have books at home, you need to bring them back before checking out more books.

What if a book is lost?

If a library book is lost, it needs to be paid for. Fines are for books that are lost and need to be replaced. You can pay for fines online here.

What happens during our class's library time?

During library time: students return books, check out new ones, and hear a read-aloud. Periodically, we'll do a mini-lesson, introduce a reading contest, or share information about the upcoming book fair.

How many books are in our library?

We have around 14,000 books in circulation. There are additional digital titles available on Sora (see "All About Books").

What are some Summer Reading opportunities?
