Library Policies

Students in Pre-K generally check out one book for their teacher’s classroom library. Students in Kindergarten and 1st grade generally check out one book to take home. Students in 2nd-5th grade generally check out 2-3 books to take home. Students may bring their books back every week to check out new books or keep books for two weeks (they can renew once more after that).

There are no fines for overdue books, but if you have multiple books at home that are overdue, you may not be able to check out new books until they’ve been returned. 

If a library book is damaged beyond repair or lost, it needs to be paid for.  You can find the amount due on notices sent home or by calling/emailing your librarian. Please make checks payable to Windermere Elementary School or WES. You can also pay fines for lost books online here. Please be sure to include Student Last, First Name, Grade & Teacher Name when paying fines online. A receipt for online payments will be emailed after processing.
